Meet Robin & Brie

Robin and Brie met while wrestling in college, and they’ve been inseparable since. Their proposal story is a wild ride. Brie planned to propose in March 2020, but COVID messed up those plans. Robin, eager to get engaged, started planning her own proposal. Friends, who knew about Brie’s plan, kept convincing her to wait. They finally headed to Oklahoma City for what Robin thought was a casual couple’s photo shoot, but Brie surprised her with a lakeside proposal at sunset, surrounded by friends. Super romantic, right?

Getting Ready at Hotel Kansas City & The Maverick

The day started with Brie’s party getting ready at Hotel Kansas City, while Robin’s crew prepped at The Maverick. Both sides were filled with laughter, a few happy tears, and some serious excitement. Sweet Chamomile’s flowers smelled amazing, and Lovely Beauty KC and Skin by Dylll were busy with hair and makeup.

For Robin, getting ready was especially emotional. Her best friends helped her out, but for the final touches, her photographer and wedding content creator stepped in to put on her veil and wedding gloves. Without family present, this support meant the world to her and brought her to tears. Meanwhile, Brie had each member of her bridal party help her get dressed, symbolizing how they’ve supported her throughout her life.

First Look at The Kauffman

The first look was magical. Robin and Brie saw each other for the first time at The Kauffman with the Kansas City skyline in the background. Halle captured the emotional moment perfectly. Afterward, the wedding party joined for photos. Everyone looked fantastic in black and gold. The wedding party had a blast taking shots before the first look, effortlessly posing and hyping each other up.

Wedding Ceremony & Reception at The Maverick

The ceremony was held in the grand hall of The Maverick, decorated with beautiful floral arrangements. Robin and Brie exchanged vows in front of their loved ones, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the place. Robin mentioned that the vows were one of her favorite moments—intimate, funny, and incredibly special.

Cocktail Hour

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktail hour with delicious bites from Putaco Truck and cocktails from The Maverick while we flipped the space upstairs. The atmosphere was lively, with everyone mingling and sharing stories about Robin and Brie. The balloon backdrop from Boss Babe Balloon Co was a big hit for photos, adding a fun and vibrant touch. Robin and Brie especially enjoyed this time with their bridesmaids, singing along to their favorite music and soaking in the moment.

The Maverick Wedding Reception

Robin and Brie made a grand entrance into the reception, and the energy was through the roof. They kicked off the night with their first dance, a beautifully choreographed number that had everyone cheering. After the first dance, DJ Mic KC played “Love Story” by Taylor Swift, and the all of their guests spontaneously started singing along. It was an unplanned, beautiful moment that perfectly captured the love and joy of the day.

Guests enjoyed incredible tacos while sharing heartfelt toasts. Robin and Brie mentioned that they stressed a lot about guest count and timing, but in the end, those details didn’t matter. They even skipped the bouquet toss and cake cutting, and it didn’t take away from their enjoyment of the day at all.

One of the night’s highlights was a dance performance by Robin and two of her friends. It was a fun, energetic routine that got everyone hyped up. Afterward, both brides changed into their reception outfits and surprised everyone with money guns and a hype shark, officially kicking off Club Delgado. The dance floor was everything they had dreamed of, with everyone dancing and the DJ playing the best tracks. The pink sharks on the dance floor were a playful and unexpected touch, making it one of their favorite moments.

The open dance floor was an absolute blast. Every guest was on the dance floor; it was absolutely iconic. Robin and Brie said the dance floor was their favorite part of the night, with everyone giving their all. They also loved taking photos with their bridesmaids, effortlessly posing and hyping each other up.

Working with Philosofi Celebrations

Here’s what Robin & Brie had to say about working with the Philosofi Celebrations team:

She was exactly everywhere we needed her without saying a word, she essentially had telekinesis and knew exactly what we needed. She was just overall handling everything from making sure we ate, to double checking if we cared about the schedule. It was great because certain things didn’t matter in the moment and I’m glad she just gave us the notification.

Robin and Brie’s wedding at The Maverick was a true celebration of love, fun, and community. It was such an honor to be a part of their journey and to help bring their vision to life. From the heartfelt ceremony to the wild dance floor, every moment was filled with joy and love. Despite some stress during the planning process, they wouldn’t have changed a thing about their day, emphasizing the importance of ensuring that the people around you on your wedding day have your best interests at heart.
