Downtown Hotel Kansas City Wedding | Shea & Daniel

I am so excited to finally share photos from Shea & Daniel’s incredible Hotel Kansas City wedding! These two were so much fun to work with, and their vision for their wedding was truly beautiful. Getting Ready at Hotel Kansas City

The suites at Hotel Kansas City are truly the perfect getting-ready spaces for weddings. They are large enough for a large bridal party, a couple of moms, a handful of kiddos, a hair and makeup team, and even some pups! Not to mention, they’re absolutely gorgeous and perfectly located in downtown Kansas City.

Yin is Shea & Daniel’s 10 year old Siberian Husky and Quinn is their 2 year old Lab/Mastiff mix who they got during the pandemic. They are the absolute sweetest, and they made the getting ready process (and the ceremony) even more fun. We love when couples include their pets on their wedding day!

The Posh KC team did an incredible job on the ladies’ hair and makeup, including the stunning Hollywood waves on the bride, while we worked to set up the ceremony and reception. Hotel Kansas City gave them the perfect backdrop with excellent lighting.

First Look at Hotel Kansas City

Daniel was absolutely blown away seeing Shea for the first time on the Hotel Kansas City Starlight Terrace.

The look on his face when he opened his gift from Shea might be my favorite wedding photo of all time!

I mean, just look at how stunning this couple is!! Nicolette captured their essence and their love perfectly.

Ceremony on the Starlight Terrace

Once guests arrived, Crescendo Trio kicked off the prelude and filled the terrace with the most beautiful music for the ceremony. The weather was truly on our side for this early April wedding.

Hotel Kansas City’s Starlight Terrace gave us the most incredible view of the city during the ceremony! The HyVee on 95th and Antioch only added to the beauty with these amazing florals. Shea & Daniel’s sand ceremony was a nod to their Santa Rosa beach engagement!

Here is the full proposal story in Shea’s words:

Daniel booked us a stay in Santa Rosa FL for the month of February in 2021. The third day we were there he said let’s watch the sunset at the beach. We walked over to the ocean and he had us stop in front of a woman taking photos. He told me there were dolphins and I said “no there isn’t” and in the back of my mind I felt bad standing in front of this woman trying to get sunset photos! He repeated himself and said ‘No look, out there, there are dolphins!’. I turned around to look and when I went to look back at him he was on one knee. I blacked out a bit. Then I shoved him away, I couldn’t believe it was happening! I said yes and the lady in the background was the photographer. She came over with two champagne flutes and a bottle of bubbly. He made me the happiest woman in the world, so cheesy but so true! He then had friends and family fly in and celebrate with us for the next month. I am blessed beyond measure!

Cocktail Hour & Reception in the Starlight Ballroom

Afterward, we opened the lobby back up for guests to enjoy the bar and some appetizers from the Hotel Kansas City catering team.

Meanwhile, Nicolette got plenty of sweet shots of family and the wedding party.

After photos and cocktails, we opened up the beautiful Starlight Ballroom for dinner, dancing, and more! HyVee also created a delicious cookie cake and other yummy sweet treats for guests to enjoy.

Once the party started, DJ MIC KC got guests on their feet, and they stayed on the dance floor all night long!

Shea & Daniel got a chance to sneak away for some sunset photos and photos to finish off their Hotel Kansas City wedding.
