Beautiful Fall Wedding at Thompson Barn

Alright, y’all, this Thompson Barn wedding is near and dear to my heart. Nicolette and I first met when she photographed Shea & Daniel’s wedding at Hotel Kansas City. Since then, she’s shot my maternity photos and our family/newborn photos after my daughter was born. Coordinating her wedding at the Thompson Barn was genuinely such an honor.

Getting Ready at Thompson Barn

I don’t think you understand how long it took me to narrow down images to share on the blog. Kelsey Diane Photography did an incredible job on this gallery, and Nicolette and Jacob so many thoughtful and intentional details throughout their event.

We loved including my dads rocking chair in the ceremony. It allowed for my dad to be present, and will now go in our future children’s nursery.

The Ceremony

After the ceremony, Nicolette and Jacob too advantage of the beautiful landscape of Thompson Barn and the stunning sunset for a new more photos.

All the little logistical things that go with planning a wedding. You can direct and inform people as much as possible prior to the wedding, but executing it is a whole other ballgame. I really had to let that all go the day of and just go with the flow.

The Reception

Their ceremony had just as many personal touches as the ceremony. Their cake toppers were custom made to look like their dogs, Jax and Nala, and they even left thank you notes for all of their guests in the same gold foiled paper as their invitations.

Nicolette & Jacob’s favorite part of the day: the first dance

The first dance was amazing. Jacob and I both agreed that that moment was our favorite part! We were both pretty nervous to dance in front of everyone, but in the moment all we saw was each other, it was truly special.

Schmidt Happens

Some final touches to round out their day included a custom neon sign, photobooth cutouts of their dogs, and rootbeer floats in honor of Nicolette’s dad.
