Valentine’s Day is coming up, but maybe you’re looking to do something a little bit more laidback. Here are 5 low key Valentine’s Day date ideas to help you celebrate with your boo. Any and all of these can be combined to make the ultimate Valentine’s Day date!
Who needs a movie theater anyway? Come up with a couple of movies that you’ve both been dying to see and watch them! Pop popcorn, get your favorite movie theater candy, and maybe even pick up slushies from the gas station. Cuddle up on the couch or lay out blankets on the ground, and enjoy the fact that you can talk during the movie without getting dirty looks from the people sitting in front of you.
I know it’s February, but you can always do an indoor picnic! Order takeout from your favorite restaurant, lay out a blanket in your living room, and celebrate Valentine’s Day with a classic picnic! Bonus points if you even have a checkered picnic blanket.
Remember in elementary school when you would decorate a shoebox with absurd amounts of glitter and foam hearts? DO IT AGAIN. Seriously. What’s more fun than channeling your inner child with your favorite human? Find a box that works and get to gluing! If you do this one, I am literally begging you to send me pictures. This is one of my favorite Valentine’s Day date ideas.
This one might be my favorite! Cooking together can be so much fun, and meal kits make it super easy! You can sign up for a subscription with a company like HelloFresh or Every Plate, or you can buy a one-off meal kit from the grocery store. Make dinner together, pick out a fancy wine (if that’s your jam), and set the table as if you were at a nice restaurant.
Note: When you use the link provided for HelloFresh, you’ll get $40 off, and when you use the link provided for Every Plate, you’ll get $20 off! Please don’t feel obligated to use these links if you don’t want to!
Go dancing!
Okay, so going out dancing might not be super lowkey, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still dance! Turn your living room into a dance floor and turn on the music. You could even sign up for a virtual dance class or find a tutorial on YouTube. This one gets an extra vote from me because you can practice your First Dance if you’re doing one!
