Colorful Spring Wedding at 28 Event Space | Rae & Brent

I had the absolute honor of coordinating Rae and Brent’s wedding at The 28 Event Space Kansas City Room. From the moment I met them, I knew they were an extraordinary couple. Rae’s infectious personality brings sunshine to everyone around her, while Brent’s calming and genuine presence makes you feel at ease in his company. Their love for each other and their kindness toward others were evident in every detail of their special day.

The Proposal

The proposal story Rae shared with me was nothing short of magical. During a double date night with their close friends, they visited Anton’s for dinner, but little did Rae know that Brent had a surprise planned. They had a delicious meal and after that, Brent suggested heading to the Kauffman Center for some pictures. Rae was thrilled, thinking it would be a fun photo opportunity. Little did she know that this was where Brent would get down on one knee and ask her to spend the rest of their lives together. Overwhelmed with joy and excitement, she happily said “Yes!” And as a delightful twist afterwards, a surprise engagement party awaited them at The Ship, where around 40-50 of their friends gathered to celebrate their love. It was a proposal filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Their sweet nephew even drew a picture of their proposal, which they used for their save the dates!

Special Touches

Throughout their wedding day, Rae and Brent incorporated elements that were truly special to them. Rae’s brother, Harrison, played a meaningful role by designing her beautiful wedding bouquet, adding a personal touch to the floral arrangements. They also involved their friends and family in various aspects of the celebration, from music to decor and even the ceremony itself. It was certainly a heartwarming tribute to the people who hold a special place in their lives.

The wedding day felt nothing short of magical. The vibrant colors that adorned the venue enhanced the warm and relaxed atmosphere. Love and joy were palpable in the air during the big day, and it was clear that everyone present was genuinely happy for Rae and Brent.

The Ceremony at Trinity United Methodist Church

Trinity United Methodist Church provided a meaningful setting for their ceremony, while 28 Event Space’s Kansas City Room perfectly matched the couple’s vision for their vibrant and lively reception. The choice of venues was just right, reflecting the warm and relaxed vibe they desired.

One of the standout moments was when Rae’s father walked her down the aisle without any mobility aids. It was a touching and beautiful moment, symbolizing the love and support he has always provided her.

Working with Rae and Brent was an absolute joy. It started with a phone consultation with Brent, and after that we all met up at Cafe Corazon. Straightaway, we connected, and I knew we were a perfect match. Being a part of their special day was incredibly rewarding, and I’m grateful for the trust they placed in me.

The color palette chosen for the wedding was a feast for the eyes. The lively hues brought energy and excitement to the celebration, perfectly complementing the couple’s personalities and the overall atmosphere of the day.

These words from Rae and Brent touched my heart deeply. As I have noted, I’m thrilled to have been a part of making their wedding dreams come true. Their kind words reaffirm why I love what I do and above all, inspire me to continue creating unforgettable experiences for couples like them.

There aren’t enough positive words I can share about this gem of a wedding planner. I recently got married in May, and we hired Sofi; and that was by far one of our best decisions. She made the process extremely easy, including her system that guides you through a detailed checklist of what needs to get done throughout the wedding process. For me, as someone who is not a planner at all and can be extremely indecisive, this made the process so smooth. I will say I had some big ideas, and Sofi never made me feel like I was doing too much, which I appreciated. She offered suggestions on how to make certain ideas come to life better, and also shared her honesty on what may need to be adjusted. The day of the wedding, I was so nervous. Sofi came in cool, calm and collected, asking how I was doing, all smiles, seeing if I needed anything (even jumping in without question, getting the wrinkles out of my dress!!) – she made us feel so loved that day, was as excited as we were and made sure we were FED too!! Her team, Morgan and Davon were beyond amazing as well – that positive energy, getting us excited throughout the day, reminding us to take those deep breaths and just on top of it when it came to timing! I cannot thank them enough. If you are in search of a wedding planner who is kind, welcoming to all, wants to celebrate you the day you hire her, calming on one of the most chaotic and amazing days and wants to celebrate your big ideas, Sofi is your person. I promise you, you will not regret it. She is one of those people who makes you feel like absolute sunshine and want to be friends. Thank you for everything Sofi, you have no idea how much you mean to us. Thank you for making our special day be everything we could’ve imagined and more <3
